With over twelve years of experience in the business intelligence and investigations field Sam has led and managed a wide variety of complex internal and external investigations, including domestic and international due diligence, litigation support, money laundering, counterfeit goods, intellectual property fraud, asset searches, competitive intelligence, employee misconduct, and cases involving bribery issues. He co-led several monitorships in the public and private sectors and has significant expertise in defending clients subject to hostile takeovers or proxy fights. Sam’s clients are primarily private and public entities, financial services and law firms, as well as high-net-worth individuals.
Sam joined S-RM in 2021 from Investigative Research Inc., a boutique investigations firm primarily servicing law firms and Fortune 500 companies in conducting discreet investigations in the U.S. and Latin America where he contributed to several multinational litigation support cases, primarily within the oil & gas sector. He began his career at Kroll as an investigative analyst where he first worked on a complex undercover illegal firearm sales investigation for a large U.S. metropolitan area. Sam also led dozens of complex due diligence investigations on behalf of U.S. and international banking institutions, private investment funds, and Fortune 500 companies in support of financial transactions or acquisitions. After several years in this role, Sam was selected as Kroll’s Director of Research for North America where he led a team of analysts in support of the firm’s investigations globally.
He began his career at a boutique New York-based investment Bank where he worked on private placement transactions and later opened the company’s office at the Dubai International Financial Centre. Sam also mentors socially responsible entrepreneurs as a guide at The Resolution Project. He holds a B.A. in economics and political science from the State University of New York at Albany.
