We are seeking an experienced, creative and analytically astute Associate with a background in macro-economics and politics to join our Strategic Intelligence practice in London.

Our Strategic Intelligence practice delivers on bespoke intelligence needs for clients across a range of sectors, including FMCG, extractives, technology, and pharmaceuticals. We help clients understand, predict and manage their external environment through the delivery of intelligence, analysis and monitoring related to political, macro-economic, regulatory, security, and operational and business conditions.

We welcome candidates with a background in macro-economics and politics and professional experience in risk and intelligence consulting, management consulting, investment firms, development institutions or similar fields.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will lead on the delivery of macro-economic intelligence and analysis, as well as lead and contribute to other projects, such as those focusing on geopolitical, security, regulatory, or operational issues as necessary.

The key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Consulting: Deliver on projects with a macro-economic and political focus. This will include contributing to scoping calls with clients, producing proposals, conceptualising deliverables and products.
  • Project management: Manage consulting projects by guiding the research and analysis of analysts and interns, reviewing output and ultimately ensuring the delivery of high-quality intelligence, analysis and products.
  • Research and analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis for bespoke projects across the areas of focus for the team.
  • Marketing and business development: Contribute to thought-leadership around global and jurisdiction-specific macro-economic, political and business trends. Support business development through early-stage engagement with new clients.
  • Training: Lead on delivering training on macro-economic matters and other areas of expertise.

The role will be based in our London office however flexible working arrangements are available.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The qualifications and experience required to perform this role successfully are:

  • As a minimum a master’s degree that has preferably included economic, macro-economic study alongside studies in political science, regional studies, development studies or similar fields. Exceptional candidates with relevant professional experience outside of these fields will be considered.
  • Professional experience servicing private sector clients in risk and intelligence consulting, management consulting, investment, or similar fields.
  • Deep familiarity with and interest in global economic and geo-political developments and trends.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality intelligence and analysis on how politics and macro-economic factors impact clients’ business and operations.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Literacy in languages other than English, such as Mandarin, French, Arabic, or Spanish is a plus but not essential.

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
