S-RM is recruiting a Developer to play a key role in supporting the in-house cyber security team to deliver an ambitious and exciting roadmap.

Our cyber security team works with national and multinational companies to help them grow their resiliency to cyber-attacks and recover from cyber incidents caused by a range of threat actors, including organised criminal groups and nation states. We combine an investigative mindset with deep technical expertise and pride ourselves on our responsiveness and provision of clear advice and actionable results to our clients.

 

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Technology Director, the Developer will work closely with the Cyber Security business unit and colleagues in the Technology Team to develop client-facing and internal solutions to help organisations recover from cyber security incidents and automate tasks performed by our cyber security practitioners.

We expect that the following will be components of the key responsibilities for this position:

  • Work in a cross-functional team of Product Managers, Developers, Devops and cyber security experts to design and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Contribute to the design and development of new products and services for our Cyber Security division and become an expert in the tools and solutions used by our Cyber Security team to support clients
  • Work with DevOps engineers to manage automated lifecycle operations including build, test, integration and deployment pipelines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the team through participation in refinement, planning and retrospective meetings
  • Ensure code adheres to best practices around unit testing, integration testing and security

The role will be based in our London office; however, we have flexible working arrangements available.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone that is able to adapt to change and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, this person will have some or all of these skills:

  • Degree level education in a computer science, maths or related numerate subject, OR equivalent practical experience
  • Engineering experience, with solid knowledge of Python, Linux and AWS cloud native services such as ECS, Lambdas and SQS
  • Previous ownership of an application domain and some experience of application/service architecture
  • Strong understanding of design patterns and experience in building well-structured codebases that anticipate future use cases and allow for fast iteration

Any of the following skills would be very beneficial in this position:

  • Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch/ELK
  • Interest in and knowledge of cyber security, particularly relating to the ingestion and processing of forensic artefacts for incident response
  • Knowledge of other programming languages, particularly Golang, Rust or TypeScript
  • Understanding and experience of event-driven architectures

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
