S-RM is recruiting a Engineering Lead/Senior Developer to play a key role in the expansion of our digital services. This individual will be responsible for architecting and developing new and existing digital products and strategic digital transformation initiatives.

Main duties and responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Digital, the Engineering Lead/Senior Developer will play a key role in establishing an internal engineering function in the business. The Jobholder will lead a team of engineers working closely the Business Units as well as operational teams such as Finance, Sales, IT and external partners. As we build out our enterprise platform in Azure,  we are looking for a seasoned engineer who can lead the development of exciting new products and services and integrate enterprise applications such as CRM, ERP and AWS web applications with our core platform.

 Engineering and Architecture

  • Act as the lead developer and solution architect for various application development and integration initiatives
  • Work to establish architectural principles and practices for web application development and systems integrations across the business
  • Build a close working relationship with IT/Information Security and external partners to ensure solutions are robust, secure and scalable
  • Establish automated lifecycle operations including build, test, integration and deployment pipelines
  • Contribute to ‘build or buy’ decisions regarding technology selection
  • Co-own the technical roadmap in collaboration with the heads of Digital and IT

Team management

  • Manage and mentor a small team of developers and data engineers
  • Handle day-to-day operations of the development team

The role will be based in our London office

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The qualifications and experience required to perform this role successfully are:

  • Degree level education in a computer science, maths or related numerate subject, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years’ engineering experience in an enterprise software development environment
  • Demonstrable experience of ground-up application design, architecture, development and integration
  • Strong experience in C#, .NET and the Azure platform, including but not limited to web apps, AD B2C, OpenID Connect, Service bus and other Azure services
  • Preference will be given to candidates who also have experience in any of the following technologies: Golang, PHP, Symfony, Python, Linux, JS, React, AWS, ElasticSearch/ELK
  • Experience hiring, managing and mentoring junior developers

The successful candidate must have permission to work in the UK by the start of their employment.
