MANAGING FUTURE RISKS THROUGH RECOVERY
Whilst COVID-19 is far from over, many business leaders are now finding enough room to reflect on the events of the first half of the year and consider what this means for the months to come.
In nearly all cases, the issues businesses were worried about before COVID-19 arrived on the scene are still there. Some, such as socio-economic unrest and anti-government sentiment, will have been exacerbated by the pandemic. Others are familiar threats (seasonal natural hazards, criminal activity and cyber security to name a few) which may have fallen by the wayside as organisations redirect resources towards recovering from COVID-19.
Despite the need to remain on high alert, many business leaders are now suffering significant crisis fatigue. Teams have been working in problem-solving mode for too long, whilst having to make significant adjustments to their personal lives at the same time. The last thing anybody wants to talk about is another potential problem. And that’s where the problem lies.
