Ian Massey

Head of Corporate Intelligence, EMEA

Ian is Head of S-RM’s EMEA Corporate Intelligence division. He specialises in leading pre-transaction due diligence and strategic intelligence engagements for private equity sponsors, multinational corporations, investment banks and global law firms.

Ian advises clients on high-stakes M&A transactions and intelligence matters globally. His expertise spans investigative due diligence, market entry intelligence, political and regulatory intelligence, geopolitical risk analysis, and stakeholder mapping. He draws on nearly 20 years’ experience across intelligence, financial services and the military, including investment banking roles at J.P. Morgan and Jefferies and service as a British Army officer.

Since joining S-RM in 2014, Ian has held senior roles in London and Hong Kong, where he established S-RM’s first Asia office. He has been ranked Band 1 by Chambers and Partners for Global Investigative Due Diligence for three consecutive years, and leads the team that won Specialist Due Diligence Provider of the Year at the 2026 Real Deals Private Equity Awards.
