Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in late February serves as a stark reminder of the importance of good intelligence in risk management.

Indeed, the breakout of Europe’s largest conventional war for 75 years should not have come entirely by surprise given prevailing realities at both the strategic and tactical levels, but for many it did.
