Demonstrations triggered by the death of George Floyd during an arrest in Minneapolis quickly spread across the US and the world. While some of the protests turned violent, the majority were peaceful events whose participants demanded change to systemic racism and police brutality. In May, for the first time in decades, clashes between border guards on a disputed boundary between India and China resulted in several fatalities.
